Hi everyone! I’m Ashley. I am the artist/owner of Moon Rose Arts and Woodcrafts. I have been creating art and crafts for over 25 years. My main art form is Pyrography. I also sew, make leather crafts, create digital art, make wooden art, etc.

I found my love for Pyrography and woodworking back in 2007. It was close to Christmas time and I needed a couple of good gifts for my little brothers. I had some sycamore sitting around which I decided to use to make two wooden boxes. After carving out the boxes I used a wood burner I had purchased from Walmart to burn pictures of animals onto the lids of the boxes. I found that pyrography came naturally to me and was instantly hooked. I am a self taught woodcrafter. As a result, many of my pieces look a lot different than what you would expect to see from a traditional woodworker. My brothers’ two boxes and many of my other pieces can be seen on the Woodwork Gallery page of this site.

In 2019 I decided to go to school for graphic design. I graduated in 2021 excited to add digital art to my list of skills. I often use my graphic design skills to assist me in pyrography projects. I also love to create illustrations, logos, websites, layout designs, etc. I recently invested in a laser engraver, which perfectly pairs graphic design and pyrography. Don’t get me wrong; I still hand burn many of my pyrography projects. I promise to clearly distinguish the difference between the hand drawn and laser engraved in my descriptions.
