Hi, I’m Ashley, the artist and owner of Moon Rose Arts and Woodcrafts. I’ve been creating art and handmade goods for over 25 years, with pyrography as my primary medium. I also sew, work with leather, create digital art, and craft wooden pieces, often blending traditional techniques with modern tools.

My passion for pyrography and woodworking began in 2007 when I needed gifts for my little brothers. Using some sycamore wood I had on hand, I built two boxes and burned animal designs onto the lids with a simple wood burner from Walmart. The process felt natural, and I was immediately hooked. As a self-taught maker, my work often looks different from traditional woodworking, and those early boxes, along with many other pieces, can still be found in the Gallery.

In 2019, I returned to school for graphic design and graduated in 2021. Those skills now support my pyrography work through illustrations, layouts, and design planning. I also enjoy creating logos, websites, and other graphic pieces. More recently, I added a laser engraver to my studio. It complements my graphic design background beautifully, though I still hand-burn many of my pyrography projects. I always clearly note in the descriptions whether a piece is hand-burned or laser-engraved.
